Strategy Over Video - Why Our Approach Changed

How do you build a county-wide program from the ground up and grow it year after year?
That's exactly what the Will County Center for Economic Development has done with its Summer Internship Program, and BP Video Production has been proud to help tell that story since the beginning.
As a Chicago-area video production company, our job isn't simply to create compelling visuals, it's to help organizations communicate their mission and achieve measurable goals.
Three years ago, the objective was clear: encourage more Will County employers to participate in the internship program. Rather than relying on scripted messaging, we interviewed student interns and participating employers to tell the story through authentic experiences. Their perspectives showcased how the program helps students explore career paths, gain real-world experience, and strengthen connections between local businesses and the community.
This year, the goal evolved, so our strategy evolved with it.
Instead of producing a single promotional video, we're creating a strategic library of marketing videos for social media. Each video focuses on a different part of the program, from the employer experience and education partners to workforce development and the importance of retaining local talent in Will County.
That's the difference between creating a video and creating a strategy.
The best brand videos and testimonial videos don't just capture moments, they solve communication challenges. Whether it's attracting employers, recruiting employees, or building trust with customers, every project should have a purpose beyond the final edit.
At BP Video Production, we help businesses and nonprofits throughout Chicagoland and Will County create strategic video content that supports marketing, strengthens brands, and drives long-term results. Because the goal was never just to make a great video, it was to help an organization move its mission forward.
