At that point, you can discuss further whether or not they can deliver the style and tone you’re after. If you’re still not convinced, move on to the next company.
How well do they communicate? - For me, this a big one. Good communication is paramount for a successful video. You’ll be able to determine pretty quickly whether or not they value timely communication. How long did it take for them to return your call, email or text? Was the initial conversation rushed or did you feel like they took the time to find out about your needs and your company’s goals? Did they keep you waiting for an estimate? Let’s face it, you’ll be working closely with this company for the next couple of months. You want to be sure that it will be a pleasant experience, not a burden.
In short, do the research and trust your gut. Don’t be fooled by budgets. Cheapest is not always the best. Conversely, the big budget company may be charging you for bells and whistles that you don’t need. Often times you’re paying for fancy gear and excessive overhead, which doesn’t translate to a more effective video.
